Role Summary

  • Reporting to the SHERQ Manager.
  • Maintaining the Safety, Health and Environment requirements for company.


Accountabilities / Key Performance Areas

  • Contractor management.
  • Legal compliance.
  • Integrated Management System administration.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Attend SHERQ meetings (SHE Committee, First Aid, etc.)
  • Incident and accident investigations register.
  • Corrective actions (preventative actions, corrective actions as per inspections, internal and external audits) register.
  • Managing, Contractor SHE compliance on company sites
  • Integrated Management System (IMS) – record keeping, updating of information, etc.
  • Legal training (bookings, arranging, certificates, update the training register and managing training requirements for company employees. OHC, forklift, eye tests, etc.
  • Medical bookings.


  • National Diploma in Safety Management
  • SAMTRAC (advantage)
  • ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and/or ISO 14001


Years of Experience

  • Specify: Minimum 4 years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Computer Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have extensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.


Job-related Skills

  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Accuracy.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Communication skills.
  • Driver’s license.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Have the ability to work alone.
  • Must be mature, sensible with a controlled bearing, being able to work with people.
