How you'll role

As a Learning and Development Manager you will play a pivotal role in driving the professional development initiatives for facilitators. You will be responsible for thoroughly assessing the professional development needs of facilitators, creating effective learning pathways, implementing impactful professional development programmes, and evaluating their impact on individual and organisational performance. Collaborating closely with the operations team, you will ensure that facilitators create a high-quality learning environment for learners.

What you'll do

  • Assess professional development needs: Conduct thorough assessments of facilitators' professional development needs to identify knowledge gaps and areas for improvement

  • Design tailored learning pathways: Create comprehensive learning pathways based on identified needs, equipping facilitators with essential skills and knowledge crucial for their role

  • Deliver engaging and significant programmes: Lead the delivery of impactful, engaging professional development programmes that enhance facilitators' skills, foster effective performance, and pave the way for improved career prospects within a 2 to 3 year timeframe

  • Evaluate programme effectiveness: Utilise robust assessment and feedback mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of professional development initiatives and gather insights for continuous programme improvement

  • Collaborate with the operations team: Work closely with the operations team, ensuring facilitators have the necessary resources and support to create high-quality learning environments for learners

  • Identify and recommend career development programmes: Partner with the Pathway Manager to identify and recommend training programmes, workshops, certifications, and self-study opportunities aimed at enhancing facilitators' career prospects over a 2 to 3 year period

  • Customised Content Curation: Drive the adaptation of existing content and spearhead the creation of new content, ensuring that Learning Pathways are precisely tailored to meet business-specific and professional development requirements

  • Stay abreast of industry trends: Keep informed about the latest industry trends and best practices in learning and development, incorporating innovative strategies into professional development programmes

  • Stakeholder and service provider management: Establish and manage relationships with stakeholders and service providers to bolster professional development initiatives

  • The Learning and Development Manager will work closely with the Pathway Manager to ensure close alignment and collaboration between the two roles, ultimately supporting facilitators in their career development journey and enhancing their prospects in the technology or education sectors

What you'll need

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as education, organisational development, or human resources

  • Proven experience in designing and delivering effective professional development programmes, showcasing the ability to create engaging and impactful learning experiences

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies, enabling the assessment and creation of learner-centred and effective professional development materials

  • Familiarity with evaluating programme effectiveness and utilising feedback to enhance the professional development programmes, ensuring continuous improvement in the learning experience

  • Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in the education or training industry, or large training functions in corporate institutions providing insight into the unique challenges and opportunities within these sectors

  • Strong project management and organisational skills, allowing for the seamless coordination and execution of multiple training initiatives simultaneously

  • Proficiency in working with and manipulating large datasets, extracting meaningful insights, and utilising findings to inform strategic decision-making and drive business performance adjustments

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for effective collaboration and relationship-building with facilitators, colleagues, and external partners 

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to provide guidance for learning development, understanding long-term goals and the steps needed to achieve them

  • The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, enabling the identification of solutions and adjustments to improve the effectiveness of the learning pathways

  • Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • A passion for continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends

  • Motivated self-starter with a proactive approach to work, taking initiative to drive learning development initiatives and manage projects effectively


R52,000 - R65,000 per month (negotiable based on experience)

  • 5% pension fund contribution (employer) 

  • Death and disability funds (employer) 

  • LTE data for work 

  • Mileage is reimbursed at a rate linked to AA rates Annual leave: 22 days
