A beautiful and established Retirement Village based in Somerset West has a vacancy for an extraordinary Estate Manager to join their lovely culture

  • Manage all Human Resource related tasks - recruitment, payroll, discipline, training and development
  • Oversee all day-to-day running of all aspects of the estate
  • Liaise directly with the Trustees regarding management strategy
  • Supervise all staff, contractors and service providers
  • Assist the Trustees with staying within the estate budget and managing the income and expenditure by implementing systems and procedures
  • Manage insurance claims with brokers
  • Liaise with owners regarding building alterations and improvements related processes
  • Assist with compliance to building regulations and rules
  • Maintenance of all infrastructure (services, roads, fences etc) within the Estate
  • Setting and enforcing performance standards and service level
  • Respond promptly and decisively to emergency situations (24/7)
  • Manage health, safety and security on the estate
  • 3 Year relevant Degree or Diploma
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in a similar position
  • Proficient in English and Afrikaans
  • Ability to impart knowledge and show initiative
  • Able to work independently
  • Ability to manage staff effectively and lead by example
  • Ability to manage, lead, plan, organize and communicate effectively
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Sound interpersonal skills
  • Strong business and financial background - Budget preparation, contractor quote approval, governance and audit compliance of contractors
  • Identify and implement value creation benefits to effect cost savings and efficiencies
  • Extensive HR Management experience 
  • Extensive health and safety knowledge and experience
  • Personality to work with older persons
