Our client is situated in Brakenfell. Only Cape Town candidates will be considered. 

The purpose of a Warehouse Assistant is to receive, check, put away, count, pick and dispatch boxed goods of Aluminum Hardware for speedy delivery to customers.

Responsibilities relating to Warehousing

  • Accurate picking, packing and dispatching                                                   
  • Preparation of transport documentation                                                    
  • All electronic and other warehouse equipment to be maintained, cleaned and kept in working order                                                                         
  • Receiving stock and accurate checking of stock from Suppliers      
  • Ensure orders are dispatched efficiently                                                        
  • Assisting counter customers with accuracy and speed      
  • Housekeeping - Monitor of Warehouse shelves to ensure neat and tidiness at all times                                                                                                     
  • Stock from Suppliers and Pretoria branch to be checked and shelved with accuracy and speed

    House Keeping

·         Clean bay regularly

·         Ensure that shelves are neat and clean

·         All stock to have labels


       Stock Take

  • Monthly Stock take done with accuracy (No assumptions tolerated - Boxes to be opened to ensure accuracy when counting)                                                        
  • Stock take Target - 2% Line variance and 0.015% Value variance   
  • Monthly stock take preparations carried out as per head office regulations                                                                                                                           
  • Daily cycle counts done with accuracy and target for the week to be met 
  • *** Target - 7 lines each day = 35 lines per week per warehouse team member

      Administration

  • Ensure Supplier and Interbranch documentation is sent to Office Manager for filing                                                                                                             
  • Compliance to and enforcing all policies and procedures within area of responsibility

Stock Management

  • Accurate counting of stock at all times                                                                                                      
  • Shelving of Stock in logical, neat and tidy manner according to set layout of the Warehouse as discussed with the Manager
  • Work with Manager in the identification and management of slow moving stock.
  • Ensure FIFO method applied on all stock.
General 
  • Adherence to health and safety procedures at all times (Shelving of stock, Wearing of Personal Protective Equipment)                                            
  • Assisting with ad-hoc duties as per request from Management
  • Ensure sound communications with all internal and external customers (Staff & Clients)
  • Responsible for raising any circumstances/issues that will influence the management of the warehouse.

  • Pick and pack stock correctly
  • Physically capable of moving around and lifting at least 25Kgs 
  • Be able to operate a forklift and have a forklift driver’s license - advantage
  • Computer literacy basic level
  • Be able to train new warehouse assistants
  • Comprehend customer expectations and the costs and effects of failure to deliver on promises.

  • 15 days leave during December shut down
  • Monday to Thursday 08h00 – 16h30 ; Fridays 08.00 to 15h30
