The Business Intelligence & Analytics Centre of Excellence (BI & A CoE) requires the services of a Senior BI Technical Architect to assist with detailed technical architecture and BI solution design deliverables for Business Intelligence Projects within the Business and Systems Technology Department.
The Senior BI Technical Architect will be required to perform design and architecture functions as per BI standards in the company.

Objective of this Scope of Work
The Senior BI Technical Architect will focus on the detailed technical designs of the ESD Renewal Program BI solutions as well as oversee and guide the development of the solution against these designs. The business and information technology (IT) needs will be translated into a solution design that enables the developers to use to ensure effective system development and delivery; focusing on making the end to end technical design clear from the input source systems, the required processing and envisioned dissemination of information to both internal and external parties in order to achieve business goals; and address the technical design of the ETL, data warehouse tables, OLAP cubes, visualizations and data delivery mechanism to stakeholders both addressing defined user requirements and performance and efficiency issues.

Scope of Services Definition
The scope will include but will not be limited to:

Provide technical leadership to the project’s resources, which could include Developers, Integration specialists, testers and Business Analysts in delivering a well designed and engineered solution that is integrated with the existing or defined IT architecture and services framework that meets clearly defined technical performance requirements.
Engage with the Business Analyst for the BI solution and ensure complete understanding of the business objectives, drivers, functions, structures, detailed workflows and information needs as per the business specifications document.
Responsible for the development of technical design documentation, and supporting the implementation, testing, operation of the solution as well as validation of product certifications, and highlighting any non-compliances.
Provide continuity of technical understanding across the BI Architecture Blueprint, presales architecture, and the definition of technical design during the various phases of solution definition.
Assist Project Manager in defining the delivery approach, provide input to estimates and resource planning required to deliver the proposed solution.
Liaise with architecture governance team to observe conformity with agreed enterprise standards and to facilitate the implementation of the solution based on the approved and licensed tools while drafting exemptions where required.
Lead the project team in the troubleshooting of technical issues related to the project implementation and promote development of expertise in the delivery team.
Any other duties and / or deliverables closely related or necessary for the purpose of delivering the services.

Knowledge, experience and personal competencies
Education and experience:
A minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or equivalent
TOGAF Certification
Data Warehouse Certification (Kimball / Inmon)
Proven knowledge of Microsoft Power BI Report Server and Microsoft Power BI Services
Knowledge of on premise to cloud migration to Microsoft Power BI Services
Proven knowledge of designing solution using Oracle ODI
Minimum 5 years of experience with detailed architecture designs on Oracle, SAS, Microsoft BI product stacks
Must be proficient in SQL, Oracle and AIX
Must be experienced in using SQL Developer for Oracle
Project exposure (waterfall and agile methodologies)
Must have solid expertise in designing Star schemas
Must have experience in BI Infrastructure components from Applications, Databases, Operating Systems and Networks
Formulation and standards for the BI Ecosystem
Must have hands on experience designing solutions that integrate complex data sources in both real time and ETL based data extraction mechanisms DIMENSIONS
Experience with facilitating workshops.
Experience in negotiating for desired outcomes
