USA-based provider of Software and Multi-tenant Cloud Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions seeks a skilled Bookkeeper/Accountant with expertise in Xero to join their team.


The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of bookkeeping, including invoicing, capturing transactions, and financial administration, using Xero. This role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience working with Xero, along with a strong understanding of USA tax laws, including sales tax, franchise tax, payroll taxes, and income taxes.


Job Description:


As a Bookkeeper/Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with USA tax laws. This role involves performing the full bookkeeping function up to the trial balance, utilizing Xero software.


Additionally, you will handle invoicing, capturing transactions, and providing financial administration support to the team.


Key Responsibilities:


Bookkeeping: Perform the full bookkeeping function, including recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements, using Xero.


Invoicing: Generate and send invoices to clients in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.


Capturing Transactions: Accurately capture and classify financial transactions, including income, expenses, and assets, within Xero.


Financial Administration: Assist with financial administration tasks, such as maintaining financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and preparing financial reports.


USA Tax Laws: Stay updated on USA tax laws and regulations, including sales tax, franchise tax, payroll taxes, and income taxes, to ensure compliance.


Collaboration: Work closely with the accounting team and external accountants to provide necessary financial information and support for tax filings and audits.




Minimum 3 years of Experience with Xero: Demonstrated proficiency in using Xero for bookkeeping and accounting tasks.


Knowledge of USA Tax Laws: Familiarity with USA tax laws and regulations, including sales tax, franchise tax, payroll taxes, and income taxes.


Bookkeeping Skills: Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices, with the ability to perform the full bookkeeping function up to the trial balance.


Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in recording financial transactions and preparing financial reports.


Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely.


Availability: Must be able to work within the time zone of Austin, TX, USA (GMT-5), to collaborate effectively with the team based in the USA.


Training can be given on USA Tax Laws.

R18,000 - R25,000 per month
