Responsibilities:


  • Attending credit committee meetings and submitting applications;
  • Manage credit team;
  • Maintaining the mission, vision and values of the company;
  • Credit risk management that includes preparation, assessment, agricultural economic analysis, evaluation and selection of applications within approval mandates;
  • Analysis of financial statements, management statements, cash flow projections, securities, debtors and creditors;
  • Provide support in managing information systems to promote customer service delivery;
  • Handling and structuring of specialized financing transactions and arranging appropriate securities;
  • Liaison with the Legal and Collection Division as well as the management of high risk customers in order to ensure that the percentage of bad debt within the managing company guidelines;
  • Continuous monitoring and management of performance of debtors book;
  • Liaison with internal and external role players;
  • Review and oversee correspondence with attorneys, clients, and internal attorneys;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the National Credit Act and compliance with regulatory legislation. Maintaining expert knowledge on appropriate legislative amendments, industry best practices and providing proactive advice and solutions to relevant stakeholders;
  • Ensure that relevant legislation is complied with;
  • Timely handling of applications to ensure customer satisfaction;
  • Assessment of credit applications and credit risk management in line with the NCA and credit policy;
  • Updating and formulating the credit policy taking into account a changed environment and legislation;
  • Provide training to fellow credit staff;
  • Grow existing and new debtors within the company's budgetary guidelines and risk profile by identifying opportunities where product ranges can be extended to customers;
  • Development of new financing products; and
  • Perform operational tasks as requested by management.


Skills, Qualifications and General Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree or 10 years credit experience is compulsory;
  • Fluent in Afrikaans and English is compulsory;
  • 3- 5 Years’ experience in management;
  • 3- 5 Years’ relevant experience in data analysis;
  • Prior experience in agriculture finance;
  • Being able to adapt to change environments and work processes;
  • High degree of taking ownership and responsibility;
  • Computer literate and knowledge of the MS Office package;
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Microsoft Power BI experience will be an advantage;
  • Solid experience in presenting statistical data to management teams;
  • Proven leadership qualities and good human relations;
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • Sound knowledge of statistical processes and best practice trends.
