We are currently recruiting an experienced and detail-oriented Buyer / Expeditor on behalf of our client. This role is critical to ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, at the best possible price, as well as expediting orders to meet clients' needs. The ideal candidate will have a background in supply chain management, logistics, or procurement, and possess strong analytical and organizational skills and an above average comfort level in dealing with and coordinating large amounts of data and information, while multi-tasking.

Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to the Procurement Manager and works closely with the sales team and other departments within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Buying: Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and prices. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  
• Expediting: Monitor and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery. Address and resolve any delays or issues that may arise in the supply chain process. Maintain close communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  
• Ad-Hoc RFQ Requests: Respond to ad-hoc requests for quotations (RFQs) from the sales team. Provide accurate and competitive pricing information in a timely manner. Collaborate with sales and other departments to meet client needs.
  
• Work with Systems:  SAP, Excel and Purpose built Buying / Expediting System that links directly to Suppliers.
  

• Minimum of Grade 12 education. A qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Procurement is highly desirable.
  
• 3-4 years of experience in a similar role within a related industry.
  
• Excellent computer skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  
• Previous experience using SAP or another ERP system.
  
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  
• Able to deal with 2000 - 5000 Line Items and 30-60 Suppliers with tight deadlines. 
  

R18 000 - R25 000 CTC (depending on qualifications and experience)
