we are recruiting for an Administrator: Backup and Continuity position.

Duties and Requirements:
Key Performance Areas:
Backup Management:
  • Monitor and optimize storage and backup performance to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Troubleshoot storage and backup related issues and provide resolution in a timely manner
  • Maintain the storage and backup environment to ensure that it is secure, reliable, and scalable.
  • Responding to incidents should there be a backlog, conduct preliminary investigations and provide possible temporary and/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated
  • Provide timely status updates to relevant parties.
  • Configure and monitor storage arrays, tape libraries, and backup software.
  • Support the management of storage systems, including vulnerability remediation, capacity management, configuration management, provisioning, and zoning of new servers.
  • Ensure information is constantly backed up to prevent loss of information.
Business Continuity Support:
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and make recommendations for incorporating new solutions into the organization's storage and backup environment.
  • Conduct regular tests of backup and recovery procedures to ensure that they are working as intended.
  • Stay current with new cloud technologies and features and make recommendations for incorporating them into the monitoring system.
  • Ensure that the monitoring system supports cloud-based applications and services, such as AWS and Azure.
Maintain Documented Standards, Processes and Procedures for the Team:
  • Maintain up-to-date written documentation and policies related to the organization’s business activities. Maintain comprehensive documentation of the storage and backup infrastructure, including configuration, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure a compliance framework is maintained in accordance with required standards.
  • Provide administrative support to the ERP team in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Reporting:
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of regulation reports.
  • Contribute to the development of functional reporting systems, for management, project or performance reporting.
Stakeholder Management
  • Assist with inquiries and requests for information from both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of relationships service providers.
Document Control
  • Ensure that the filing system is always up-to-date and functional.
  • Always manage the retrieval of information as requested in the office.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all documents under control and that documentation reaches the intended recipients.
  • Acknowledge the receipt of documentation, apply a file number allocation, record data onto computer system and file appropriately.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelors’ Degree/ Advanced Diploma in Information Technology related qualification.
  • Operational framework e.g. ITIL 3 or 4 Foundation.
  • Relevant 3 years’ experience in Information Technology related environment.
  • Experience in Enterprise backup and storage administration including storage arrays, tape libraries, and backup software.
  • Experience in cloud-based storage and back-up technologies, including storage services, backup solutions, and disaster recovery plans.
