Requirements
Educational
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- A tertiary qualification is preferable.
- 5+ years of Technology Sales and Product / Account management experience.
- Experience in brand marketing (products and processes) with financial and business acumen.
- Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably in an internal account management or business development role.
- Experience in cold calling, lead generation, and outbound sales.
- Relevant sales certifications related to sales in the IT industry.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve revenue and gross profit targets.
- Effective time and people management skills.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
- Good understanding of the ICT industry including the ability to keep up with technology and industry developments.
- Proficient in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales automation tools.
- Proficient in MS office suite, specifically advanced skills in Excel.
- You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to effectively interact with key clients, internal teams, and vendors to build long-lasting relationships.
- You are detail-oriented, ensuring that every aspect of the account management process is handled with accuracy and thoroughness, from order fulfillment to follow-ups.
- You are adaptable, capable of managing unexpected changes in client requirements, product availability, or market conditions without compromising service quality.
- You demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, enabling you to address client concerns and resolve issues quickly to maintain client satisfaction and trust.
New Business Development
- Proactively identify, target, and acquire new customers through outbound prospecting, networking, and market research.
- Generate and qualify leads via cold calling, social selling, email outreach, and referrals.
- Develop tailored sales pitches and proposals that align with client needs and business goals.
- Consistently achieve or exceed new business sales targets and KPIs.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with new clients to drive long-term business opportunities.
- Develop deep knowledge of customer industries to position our products/services effectively.
- Cross-sell and upsell to maximise customer value and revenue potential.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prospecting activities, pipeline progress, and sales performance in the CRM.
- Qualify and prioritise opportunities to ensure efficient sales cycles and deal closure.
- Work closely with internal teams (marketing, customer success, operations) to ensure seamless onboarding and client satisfaction.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive activities, and customer feedback to refine sales strategies.
- Continuously improve sales techniques and product knowledge to enhance effectiveness.
- Collaborate with leadership to refine go-to-market strategies for new customer acquisition.
- Own transport as the role requires you to attend partner meetings.
- This is an office-based position in the Durban branch.
