This position is earmarked to Unemployed Youth on on a 12 month contract basis. The person applying must comply with the criteria and be registered on the Yes4Youth platform

Responsibilities And Duties
- Ensure that jigs fixtures, tools, material handling equipment and lifting gear conform to occupational health and Safety Act (OHS Act) specifications.
- To specify the production system to internal customers (production and logistics) to direct their daily operations. Initiate and participate on Problem solving (QRPS)
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international environmental laws (e.g., ISO 14001, air and water quality standards, hazardous waste regulations).
- Continuously perform internal audits to ensure compliance to UDPS, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015
- Conduct environmental audits and inspections, ensuring adherence to legal and corporate requirements.
- Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory bodies and corporate stakeholders.
- Stay updated with changes in environmental regulations affecting the automotive industry.
- Develop and implement waste management strategies, including hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal.
- Monitor and control emissions, air quality, and water treatment processes.
- Develop plans for reducing pollution and minimizing environmental impact.
- Drive energy-saving initiatives to reduce carbon footprint and promote sustainability.
- Develop strategies for water conservation and alternative energy usage.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement green manufacturing practices.
- Identify potential environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend improvements for pollution prevention.
- Investigate environmental incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct training programs for employees on environmental compliance and sustainability practices.
- Promote a culture of environmental responsibility within the organization.
- Stakeholder on plant projects, construction.
- Management of plant environmental permits
- Diploma/degree in Industrial, Quality, environmental sciences or equivalent
- ISO 9001:2015 ISO14001:2015 certificate will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of lean practices
