How you'll role

Join a renowned consulting engineering firm known for its innovative and high-quality solutions. As the Financial Manager, you’ll take the reins of the finance department, lead a team of 15, and drive financial excellence across the business. You’ll be based in Johannesburg North and play a critical role in strategic decision-making and operational oversight.

What you'll do

• Lead, manage, and mentor a finance team of 15
• Oversee day-to-day financial operations and ensure compliance
• Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Provide decision-support to the executive team through strategic financial analysis
• Maintain and enhance internal controls and financial systems (Proman, SAGE payroll, SAP Ariba, Coupa)
• Champion cost-saving initiatives and profitability strategies
• Approve payroll transactions and engage with external auditors
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align financial planning with business goals
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of King IV and IFRS standards

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related
• Chartered Accountant (CA), CIMA, or equivalent qualification
• Experience with Proman, SAGE payroll, SAP Ariba, Coupa (bonus points for all four!)
• Solid grasp of financial management principles and compliance
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• A strategic mind with a passion for numbers and people
• Background in consulting engineering is a big plus
