Business area and team

The SaaS Cloud Services organization is responsible for operating our SaaS platform and delivering exceptional service to our SaaS clients. This function also works collaboratively with our sales, delivery, product, and engineering organizations to accelerate customer acquisition and projects, whilst ensuring operational excellence at every step of the journey. The business unit is focused on guiding our clients on target state solution architecture, technical onboarding, and service management throughout the client lifecycle - ultimately enabling our customers to increase their business agility and maximize their return on investment.

The Role

We are seeking a candidate to fulfil the role of Cloud Services Engineer, to work on Xceptor’s Software as a Service (SaaS) client platforms.

The Cloud Services Engineer’s responsibilities will span availability, performance, monitoring, incident response, and deployment of new clients and services. The role works closely with the Xceptor Support team and product engineering group, contributing operational insights as the services evolves.

The role requires participation in a rota to be on call to respond to services availability incidents out of hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure Service Availability: Monitor and maintain the availability of Xceptor’s SaaS services.
  • Incident Response: Swiftly respond to alerts and troubleshoot issues, and work with Xceptor’s Global Support and Engineering teams
  • Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in the cloud environment to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitor resource usage, identify and implement issue mitigation actions, and plan for future capacity needs to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Client deployments: Work on projects to migrate new and existing clients to Xceptor SaaS solutions.
  • Change Implementation: Implement and approve changes based on support or client requests.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of processes and procedures for internal use and compliance purposes.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention in repetitive tasks.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/5 support.
  • Participate in and run DR/BCP tests.
  • Support Sales/Customer Success colleagues with presentations of the SaaS service to prospective SaaS clients to evangelise the service.

Key Competencies

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a site-reliability engineering, technical support or implementation role.
  • Client service mindset.
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure such as Azure, AWS.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
  • Experience in incident response, root cause analysis and post mortem diagnosis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, management, and clients.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps Pipelines, SQL Server,
