  • Head of research division focusing on residues and contaminants in milk production and processing, novel foods and the production of alternative foods
  • Active networking with Swiss sectoral associations (milk/dairy products) and ensuring knowledge transfer between science and practice
  • Regular dialogue with national and international scientific institutions and identification of research and innovation needs in the food safety sector
  • Planning, developing, organising and managing practice-oriented research projects and coordinating cooperation with external research partners
  • Testing of pest-control products as part of the autorisation procedure

This makes you unique

  • MSc in natural sciences, food sciences, (veterinary) medicine, toxicology or related discipline
  • Interest in food safety and engagement with novel emerging risks; willingness to participate in continuing education and to develop expert knowledge; a scientic all-rounder who enjoys an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Strong communication skills; the ability to put across complex scientific issues in a practice-oriented manner; precise, sensitive linguistic expression skills (authoring scientiic reports, publications and expert opinions)
  • Client-oriented manner of working; flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment
  • Knowledge of two official Swiss languages and English

As part of this exciting challenge you will develop into an expert in milk/dairy-product food safety by means of interdisciplinary collaboration with experts from the natural sciences, veterinary medicine and practice.

Additional Information

The 'Risk Evaluation and Risk Mitigation' Research Group supports producers, processers and affected Swiss federal and cantonal agencies with expert knowledge, prevalence data, risk assessments and research findings to maintain the safety of milk, dairy and meat products as well as plant-based foods at a high level. The Group's work encompasses known microbiological, chemical and physical risks, as well as new 'emerging risks'.
