Junior Animator

Role Overview We’re looking for a multi-skilled junior motion designer who’s comfortable with both creative execution and technical problem-solving. You'll work on high-volume Telkom rollout campaigns while also supporting the development of smarter internal workflows and animation systems. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating clean, effective motion graphics, but also wants to help build tools and processes that make the team faster, more consistent, and more scalable. You’ll collaborate closely with the creative team - delivering rollout content and contributing to systems that will support future projects and clients. Core Responsibilities Animate branded 2D/3D content for Telkom and other campaigns Build and maintain modular After Effects templates and scripts Help develop a scalable motion component system aligned with brand guidelines Collaborate with designers and senior animators to automate parts of the animation pipeline Support day-to-day rollout work across multiple deliverables Apply feedback clearly and consistently in a fast-paced environment Required Skills & Experience Strong proficiency in Adobe After Effects, including Expressions and scripting (JavaScript/ExtendScript) Solid understanding of motion design principles and 2D animation Basic knowledge of 3D tools like Cinema 4D or Blender (modelling, lighting, rendering) Interest in automation, systems thinking, and technical problem-solving Experience working with brand toolkits, templates, and style guides Bonus Points Familiarity with Houdini, Redshift, or other rendering engines Experience building libraries of motion components or reusable systems Exposure to agile workflows, version control, or production pipelines Previous experience on high-volume rollout campaigns Curiosity around new tools and workflows, including AI/ML-enhanced processes Who Thrives Here You’re someone who is: Curious & coachable – You want to grow, learn from senior creatives, and improve systems Detail-obsessed – You catch inconsistencies and polish the little things Technically creative – You enjoy scripting and streamlining just as much as animating Craft-driven – You care about quality, even when work is fast-paced or templated Resilient – You stay focused and sharp during large-scale productions Team-oriented – You bring a positive attitude to both internal teams and production partners
