Landis+Gyr (Pty) Ltd is part of a global organisation and is engaged in the design, production and distribution of energy metering and energy management products.
The “Quality Control Inspectors” are added links in the manufacturing process to ensure that the product leaving the Manufacturing facility meet the required “CSDS” specifications as established
The compliance to this set of parameters is established by the conducting random sampling inspections as detailed in relevant documentation

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks
Manufacturing
- Conduct random sampling inspections of meters batches manufactured at the production facility
- Ensuring at all times that the inspections are carried out timelessly
- Conduct random patrol inspections on the production lines to ensure that known quality problems are avoided in the batches under production
- Conduct random sampling inspections of meters batches manufactured by sub-contractors
- Ensure that there is at all times a very co-operative approach to the production facility
- Ensure that all tools /jigs required to perform functions are always in good working order
- Ensuring that all the inspections carried out on final product are at all-time done using the latest revision of the document in question
- Ensuring that all relevant departmental documentation is suitable filed for safeguarding and easy retrieval at all times
- Recording of all sample batches inspected on relevant document ( QC Inspection Log)
- Issuing Batch Rejection Certificates for all the batches that fail as a result of the inspection
- Flagging of non-conforming situations timelessly to the Product Quality Manager
- Recording of all patrol inspections carried out on each line on relevant document ( QC patrol Inspection Sheet )
- Being able to spot new quality problems and ensuring that the same get documented onto the relevant inspection documentation
- A very focused approach towards quality details
- Must be at all times prepared to “go the extra mile” to achieve exceptional service and not limit himself to only the tasks mentioned on this job description
- The QCI must be a self-motivated person, looking at all times to bettering the established inspection processes
- The QCI must have good inter-personal skills and be able to liaise with staff in many different areas and at differing levels
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision
- Must have a good understanding of all components & sub-assemblies quality problems that have been experienced in the past
- Reasonable knowledge of what can constitute a problem relevant to component quality
- Must have a very analytical approach towards all inspections
- Must be able to interpret technical documentation
- Good administrative skills with regards to the safe-keeping of all documentation
- Must at all times be able to be a team player within the Inspection department
