Position Summary: 

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Buyer / Storeman / Stock Controller with a  strong background in the electrical field. This role is crucial to our operations, acting as the key link  between our technical staff and our suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding  of electrical products and terminology, excellent supplier relationship skills, and a proactive  attitude towards stock management and procurement.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Procure electrical components, tools, and materials as requested by technical teams 

• Interpret technical requests with accuracy and offer suggestions where appropriate 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with electrical suppliers to ensure the best pricing,  availability, and support 

• Monitor inventory levels and ensure critical stock is always available 

• Conduct regular stock takes and maintain accurate records 

• Receive, inspect, and organize stock in the storeroom 

• Liaise with site and project managers to forecast stock requirements 

• Implement and maintain stock control systems to improve efficiency and reduce waste 

• Assist with sourcing alternative products when necessary, using your product knowledge 

• Ensure compliance with company policies and health & safety regulations

Key Requirements: 

• Proven experience in a similar role within the electrical industry 

• In-depth knowledge of electrical products, tools, and materials 

• Ability to understand and communicate technical specifications 

• Strong organizational and time-management skills 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• Competency with stock management systems 

• Full competency on the Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook 

• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities 

• Team player 

• Driver’s license (preferred)
