Job Summary

Delivery of specific quality outcomes across the breadth of the digital channel / product development domain. Works under the guidance of the overall Product Manager and is responsible for the delivery of very specific outcomes within the Lifecycle.

Works to define product enhancements and strategies as well as reports on the product roadmap to senior product management. The required quality outputs are defined within shorter release intervals and the nature of the allocated outcomes will vary to provide exposure towards the full suite of digital core capabilities

Job Description

Education/Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree, Diploma or Technical Vocational certificate, NQF Level 7-8 in subjects of Engineering, Business, Commerce, Marketing or Design
  • 2 to 4 years related experience
  • A basic understanding of the banking industry / financial services sector and disruptive technologies
  • Analytical thinking

  • Design, technological or marketing background
  • Task management

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Planning

  • Drive data gathering process and analyse latest trends, best practice and current industry standards to drive improvement of product sets.
  • Analyse market trends, sales performance and competitor activity to identify customer needs and market gaps
  • Using research insights, provide informed recommendations on how to improve the performance of products within the portfolio.

Product Development

  • Gather product requirements, coordinate with relevant chapters to deliver functional solutions and participate in system configuration.
  • Deliver against product release plans. Identify & escalate risk and interdependencies which impact on business units and product streams within the portfolio.
  • Work with developers to delivers quality features and products within the expected timeline
  • Deliver on assigned outcomes in innovation experiments and R&D. Provide a view on experiments and work with teams to create new solutions
  • Collaborate with product managers to maintain plan integration and ensure overall achievement of product objectives.
  • Engage with customers to solicit feedback and ensure product meets customer expectations whilst aligned to the overall digital strategy

Product lifecycle

  • Deliver on specific quality outcomes assigned from any stage of the digital product lifecycle. This could include project deliverables during the building phase or span to include customer feedback analysis or actions from the post launch phase
  • Perform Quality Assurance controls on products
  • Identify new opportunities and service improvements for various Product sets to improve user experience and drive value for the business
  • Implement assigned continuous improvement tasks to improve the functioning of the chapter.
  • Drive reporting and analytics within the portfolio and provide key analysis and insights on product performance

Learning and Growth

  • Deliver on key tasks and specific KPIs from the various end to end cross functional processes to achieve operational outcomes for the team
  • Drive the Knowledge Management for the portfolio of products and the ensure the central repository always remains up to date
  • Execute best practice methodologies for customer and colleague digital adoption through collaborating with relevant stakeholders in respect to knowledge and Information sharing sessions.
  • Practice continuous learning and self-improvement to stay informed on digital best practices
  • Adhere to processes, control requirements and risk management frameworks designed for the area.
  • Create support and training documents for internal and external users to promote sustainability within the team.

Commercial performance

  • Execute specific actions, tasks and project deliverables required to achieve specific commercial outcomes for the product.
  • Gather the required data and Market Insights for decision making and identification of opportunities
  • Provide the necessary competitor, market and business performance analyses to support relevant teams with aligning product launch activities with marketing activities
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities within the Channel to drive value for the business

Education

Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Physical, Mathematical, Computer and Life Sciences (Required)
