Are You Someone Who Can
- Identify process improvements to contain and reduce cost of compliance and improve efficiencies
- Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
- Networks and participates in specialist risk forums and represent the Segment Compliance team where required
- Deliver service that exceeds customer expectations through proactive, innovative and appropriate solutioning
- Provide input into the development of the tactical strategy, and develop and implement a supporting operational strategy
- Accumulate information to review work progress that provides input to reporting, decision making and the identification of improvement opportunities
- Compile reports that track progress, provide risk insights and guide business to make informed decisions
- Ensure compliance with relevant statutory, legislative, policy and governance requirements in area of accountability (specific focus and Market Conduct and Business conduct related legislation)
- Ensure implementation of relevant policies, governance and practice standards across the business
- Maintain own knowledge on relevant legislative amendments, industry best practices and internal compliance procedures and requirements
- Educates others and makes suggestions for improvements in respect of the control environment in area of accountability
- Research, enable and consult on improvements and opportunities to harness technology and platform enablement
- Advise business on best practice for regulatory compliance by ensuring the business is educated on the Conduct related regulatory landscape and by creating awareness on the requirements and Regulatory expectations
- Advise on and provide support to stakeholders in relation to the execution of the practice relevant to Conduct legislation, frameworks, processes, and tools
- Provide expert input to committees on compliance related matters to ensure informed decision making
- Advise business of changes in regulation and identify potential impact of these changes on the business
- Utilise root cause analysis to understand issues identified across the business and monitor reviews performed by assurance providers, conduct trend analysis, and determine impact across portfolios
- Support the Group and Segment Conduct function by assisting in developing of policies, procedures, frameworks, and tools with specific focus on Conduct legislation and best practices.
- Advise and support business in terms of applicability of regulation and in so doing, mitigate risk
- Ensure that compliance risk is adequately identified and in so doing, guide the business in terms of addressing such risk
- Display and encourage an appreciation of teamwork and inclusivity
- Minimum bachelors degree in compliance, risk management, legal or similar
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance with Market Conduct related legislation (such as FAIS and Conduct Standards for Banks)
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Business Conduct (Ethics) programme management
- Experience with dealing with multi-level stakeholders across a large group
