Responsibilities
Job Overview: The purpose of the Pest Control Operator is to ensure the implementation of an effective integrated pest management program by setting minimum requirements for both internal and external pest control operators to prevent pests, adherence to legislation and adopted other requirements. The incumbent is responsible for the management, handling, storage and disposal of pesticides that are used to control pests. Execute the actions of the pest management programme in a safe and responsible manner. The Pest Control Operator is required to carrying out pest control and hygiene services in
accordance with the Fertilizers, Farm Feeds, Agricultural Remedies and Stock Remedies Act 36 of 1947 and other food safety and Quality requirements.

- Minimum 2 - 3 years’ experience in Integrated Pest Management and Knowledge of Stored Product Insect control and food processing.
- Qualified pest control officer with certificate for: Structural Pest Control - (Commercial and Domestic) as well as Fumigation (Bag, Bulk, Structures and Circulation).
- Basic Knowledge of relevant legislation, GFSI Standard requirements, Retailers and Customers requirement for Pest Control.

- Qualified PCO in structural and fumigation (P- number registered in both aspects)
- Computer literacy essential (Microsoft Excel and Word) with a sound understanding of Excel (worksheets & formulas)
- Good communication and inter-personal skills
- Extremely high organization skills and ability to multi-task/prioritize
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to carry out procedures quickly and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to plan
- Technical expertise, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, communication, safety consciousness, adaptability, time management, and professionalism
