We are the Core Banking Platform Team – the engine room of Capitec’s banking capability. Think Bank-in-a-Box. Think Ledger at Scale. Our platform is mission-critical, powering both Retail and Business Banking, and enabling smooth client experiences across Capitec’s product suite. We collaborate widely — with engineering, product, data and operations — to ensure resilient systems, intelligent architecture, and operational stability at scale. Our team is hands-on in driving real change through a deep understanding of banking, platform design, and the implications of complex data movement.

To contribute to the design and development of new applications / systems to meet the business requirements of the data platform environment. To analyse business or system requirements and build and enhance the data platforms. To participate in and provide input to the Architect during the compilation of solution design documentation for new and existing data platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver robust solutions.Come build with us.

• Have a minimum of five years of relevant experience within management information systems (MIS) / data warehousing / data transformation/ systems analysis
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Data storage and access technologies
• Testing methodologies and practices
• IT systems development processes (SDLC)
• Design and create scalable Data pipelines
• Knowledge of Rational database system and / or cloud data warehousing and / or big data frameworks
• Proficiency in data engineering tools and technologies (Kafka, spring boot)
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Kubernetes..)
• SQL or other data querying technologies
• Real-time data processing and streaming

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Data Analysis
• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
