We're looking for a results-driven and technically skilled Broker Consultant: New Business & Retention to drive broker growth and retention, build long-term relationships, and promote profitability across our national footprint.

Purpose

To actively source new brokers with books of business for Acuideas and to provide technical broker support and advice to the Acuideas brokers to ensure broker retention. To ensure national growth of Acuideas footprint and revenue and profitability of Acuideas. New business must be aligned to the Acuideas minimum standards for new brokers in terms of premium volume, loss ratio and profitability. To ensure all brokers are serviced in accordance with ACUIDEAS Standards and standard operating procedures. To ensure day to day servicing and ongoing relationship management between Acuideas and its brokers. To be registered as a representative for the FSP on the FSCA register.


Key Responsibilities

  • Actively source and onboard new brokers aligned with our standards
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with existing brokers
  • Deliver technical support and assist brokers with product structuring and quoting
  • Negotiate favourable terms with underwriters
  • Oversee book migrations and manage new business conversions
  • Handle complex quotations, claims queries, and client service issues
  • Maintain policy records, ensure compliance, and uphold Acuideas service standards


Minimum Requirements

  • Matric & FETC Level 4 Short-term Insurance Qualification
  • Higher Certificate in Insurance (essential)
  • RE5 Certification (essential)
  • 5+ years in short-term insurance (commercial servicing, underwriting & claims)
  • Experience with broker/client relationship management
  • Strong knowledge of all commercial insurance classes

  • Advanced insurance underwriting and broking skills
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and retention skills
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, Tial, insurer platforms)
  • Professional communication, problem-solving, and conflict management abilities
  • Regulatory knowledge: FAIS, POPIA, COFI, etc.
  • Team player with initiative, urgency, and resilience



Please note that although this is a hybrid position, the successful candidate will at times be required to travel to the based office.
