Position Overview
As a Technical Engineer, you will serve Advania’s clients by designing and implementing network configurations, and troubleshooting performance issues on devices like firewalls, routers, and switches.

The budgeted salary for this role is between 30,000 and 40,000 ZAR per month, depending on experience.
Hybrid Working

Position Overview
As a Technical Engineer, you will serve Advania’s clients by designing and implementing network configurations, and troubleshooting performance issues on devices like firewalls, routers, and switches.
Responsibilities
Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in scoping and design where required
- Creating, updating, maintaining, and reviewing network documentation
- Creating knowledge articles within Service Now
- Managing risk and downtime during maintenance windows
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve network and security tasks
- Taking ownership and performing effective incident investigation applying sound problem-solving methods to determine scope, urgency, and potential impact across a wide range of IT systems.
- Taking ownership of tasks allocated and professionally manage them through to resolution or escalation
- Minimum 5 year’s experience in a technical support role
- Solid working knowledge and experience across the following technologies:
- Firewalls: Palo Alto, Azure Networks, Fortigate
- Switching: Cisco, HPE
- Wireless: Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti
- Setting up Routing: OSPF, BGP, VPN, SSL VPN
- Cloud: Azure Express Route, Azure NSG, VMWARE NSX
- WAN/LAN Networking: VPLS, MPLS, TCP/IP, DNS, SNMP, VPN
- Solid understanding of some key ITSM processes: Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management
- CCNA (Routing & Switching) | CCNP
- VOIP Preferrable (Gamma Horizon, Teams Voice, Cisco Voice)
- Security threat remediation
- Fortinet Certified Associate (FCA) or higher
- Security compliance analysis and security hardening capability
- Knowledge and experience of Syslog aggregation
