Position: Data Steward – Animal Health
Johannesburg
Basic Purpose of the Role: Maintain commercial excellence systems and processes such as CRM/Veeva to drive Sales Force Excellence. Set up infrastructure and processes for collecting, processing, and maintaining data from various sources (Veeva, Sell-in, Sell-out, Valkre, stock levels). Generate relevant reports combining different data sources to drive business decisions.

Set up infrastructure and processes for collecting, processing, and maintaining data from various sources (Veeva, Sell-in, Sell-out, Valkre, stock levels). Generate relevant reports combining different data sources to drive business decisions.
Key Accountabilities:
Data Steward:
- Collect and process sales, market, and CRM data.
- Manage data quality and accuracy.
- Understand end-to-end data flows and identify data dependencies.
- Create and maintain sales report dashboards.
- Maintain Strategic Account Management Dashboards.
- Manage the Veeva CRM system database, including territory alignment for sales teams using tools like VEEVA Align.
- Assist with segmentation and targeting processes.
- Maintain the customer database in Salesforce.com-Veeva and identify data quality gaps.
- Maintain existing Veeva modules and roll out new modules, including Jira request management, testing, implementation, and user training.
- Serve as the first point of contact and local tool owner for Veeva.
- Assist in creating training material for new modules and new joiners.
- Provide back-up support for the CE manager to onboard new employees in company processes and systems, especially Veeva CRM.
- Support the sales team with Veeva technical issues, managing tickets logged with the Business technical teams.
- Reconcile wholesaler sales reports via Rapsody.
- Create and maintain sales dashboards and performance KPI tracking reports.
- Provide data for incentive calculation and payout.
- Partner with regional and global teams to implement global tools to support processes.
- Report and interpret data, supporting the CE manager with accurate business-required dashboards.
- Maintain Strategic Account Management Dashboards.
- Track and measure the success and effectiveness of sales force activities, including detailing and campaigns, SFE KPIs, and coaching KPIs of line managers.
- Assist CE manager and Sales & Marketing Leads in realization tracking and incentive calculation of the sales force.
- Prepare integrated analysis with different data sources (Veeva, CEESA, sell-in, sell-out, JDA, GRP, Valkre, etc.) for strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with corporate SOPs and procedures (e.g., SFE SOP, Code of Conduct), local regulations, ethical standards, and best practices.
- Requires analytical thinking, strong data management skills, and reporting.
- Work within strict and short timelines while ensuring punctuality.
- Conduct gap and opportunity analysis and provide solutions.
- Local: CE Manager, AH Head, Species Sales & Marketing Leads, Regulatory, Sales and Marketing teams, Finance Controller, Data management teams, BI Shared services.
- Regional/Global: Data management teams, BI Shared services, Global and Regional CE Team members, GBS, MDM teams.
- Good understanding of end-to-end data flows and data dependencies, as well as CRM management.
- Experience in data management and CRM in the Animal Health and Pharma Industry is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Business Administration/Information Technology or 3-5 years of experience in Sales data reporting and CRM.
- Demonstrate analytical thinking skills.
- Experience with CRM.
- Strong data management.
- Reporting capabilities and proficiency with tools such as Tableau, PowerBI.
- Experience in creating and maintaining dashboards.
- Good communication and presentation skills to interpret and communicate data to business stakeholders.
- Ability to train people.
- Experience in cross-functional working.
- Proficiency in MS Office Tools, especially Advanced Excel.
- Experience in the Animal Health Industry or Pharma is an advantage.
