The Intermediate Plugin Developer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting custom eCommerce plugins for WooCommerce and Magento platforms. This role involves close collaboration with the Integration team to ensure seamless integration with payment gateways and third-party services, while providing ongoing support to merchants. The developer will play a key role in delivering high-quality, secure, and scalable plugins, ensuring a smooth user experience and contributing to the overall success of the ecosystem.

Role Tasks & Responsibilities

Plugin Development Maintenance:

Build and update e-commerce plugins for WooCommerce, Magento, OpenCart and PrestaShop to improve platform function and 3rd-party integrations.

Collaboration with Integration Team:

Collaborate with the integration team to ensure seamless plugin integration and resolve any integration or deployment issues.

Merchant Support & Troubleshooting:

Assist merchants with plugin installations, configurations, and troubleshooting issues that

arise post-deployment. Provide clear guidance and instructions to ensure that merchant have a positive experience.

Code Quality & Best Practices:

Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code adhering to industry best practices, ensuring the security, performance, and scalability of plugins.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Coordinate with other development teams (backend, frontend, QA) and support teams to ensure alignment on project goals and efficient problem resolution.

Ecommerce Platform Expertise:

Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in WooCommerce , Magento, and other eCommerce platforms, ensuring that our plugins remain competitive and compatible with current platform versions.

Feedback & Iteration:

Gather feedback from merchants and internal teams to continuously improve plugin functionality, user experience, and documentation.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in PHP, particularly for eCommerce plugin development.
  • Experience with eCommerce platforms such as Magento, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of database management (MySQL or similar).
  • Understanding of security best practices in plugin and eCommerce development
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in eCommerce plugin or software development.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting eCommerce plugins and integrations.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
