Operations Manager

Our client is seeking to employ a seasoned Operations Manager to join their dynamic and high-pressure food manufacturing warehouse in Cape Town.

Main Duties:

•        Ensuring receiving, warehousing, production and dispatching operations are running according to plan.

•        Implementing and maintaining operational policies and procedures.

•        Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

•        Monitor and supervise the production process to ensure smooth operations and optimal outcomes.

•        Manage and supervise the workforce, including task allocation, setting deadlines, and monitoring performance.

•        Formulate strategic and operational objectives aligned with organizational goals.

•        Perform quality controls and monitor production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure consistent, high-quality output.

•        Safety and compliance; promoting and enforcing safety protocols and regulatory compliance within the warehouse.

•        Ensure occupational health and safety standards by training employees on safety procedures and maintaining proper documentation.

•        Maintain the upkeep of security controls around the warehouse property.

•        Driving safe business practices for staff and equipment.

•        Foster a good working environment for staff by uplifting morale and taking the necessary course of action where necessary (with guidance from HR)

•        Maintaining awareness and knowledge of the operation and supply chain status.

•        Assisting with head office requirements for the warehouse.

•        Ad hoc business requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric
• Minimum 3 Year Solid Experience
• Knowledge of supply chain principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Salary: R30 000 p/m (negotiable) + benefits.
