Job Description

The Group Reporting Accountant is responsible for consolidation and reporting of the multicurrency group of companies. Companies are based across Africa, with main business hubs based in South Africa and Kenya.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting
  • Timely and accurate completion and submission of consolidated results
  • Monthly and quarterly reporting of consolidated results
  • Collaboration with FP&A Team to generate accurate and insightful reports, including cost packs and monthly estimates
  • Compilation of monthly management and statutory packs
  • Support Procurement and Tax Teams with regards to reporting needs
  • Capex reporting
  • Cashflow forecasting and reporting
  • Geographic reporting
  • Ad hoc reporting
  • Financial Consolidation and Close (FCCS)
  • Submission of management and statutory trial balances and related data forms
  • Mapping of trial balance accounts to FCCS
  • Management of ERP System
  • Take ownership of ERP system, including management of Chart of Accounts, system users and permissions
  • Ensure revaluations and eliminations are processed and are accurate
  • Manage intercompany reconciliations
  • Annual Financial Statements (AFS)
  • Assist with disclosure information for the various group companies
  • Ensure consistency across AFS, with focus being on alignment of accounting policies
  • Assist with review of AFS
  • Punctuality and Attendance
  • Responsible to uphold good punctuality and attendance
  • Responsibilities on Demand
  • Due to the fluid and dynamic environment within the business, new, additional or changed position responsibilities will occur
  • Successful demonstration of change orientation is an on-going responsibility in all positions

Education

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CA (SA) or similar

Experience

  • 3+ years post article experience
