Job Description

To provide support to the business unit by applying accounting principles in monitoring, analysing and interpreting financial data, maintaining and auditing financial transactions, and providing accurate accounting information pertaining to reserves, assets and expenditures to the business unit to support business decisions.

Are You Someone Who Can

  • Analyse, summarize and account for financial transactions pertaining to a business.
  • Increase operational efficiency and suggest solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and prevent wastage.
  • Develop and manage key stakeholder relationships that enable achievement of operational objectives.
  • Adhere to financial reporting guidelines set out by First Rand.
  • Prepare monthly 5 liner & CEO report.
  • Prepare monthly Balance Sheets reconciliations. Prepare quarterly tax packs & CFO reports.
  • Prepare and adjust financial journal entries as required.
  • Prepare the monthly analysis Insurance tax schedules.
  • Provide accounting information to support business performance.
  • Assist with ad-hoc finance team related tasks.
  • Respond to financial queries by interpreting appropriate financial data.
  • Identify and resolve invoicing issues, accounting discrepancies and other financial related issues.
  • Develop and nurture internal relationships within business enabling collaboration.
  • Maintain financial analysis and reporting activities as required for the business unit.
  • Assess own performance through seeking timely, and clear feedback and request training where appropriate.

You Will Be An Ideal Candidate If You Have

  • Diploma / BCom in Finance or Accounting
  • Work Experience - 4- 5 years
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance financial regulations and accounting principles
