What You Will Accomplish Here…

As the Employment Equity & BBBEE Specialist/Coordinator, you will take ownership of driving the company’s transformation strategy and ensuring full compliance with Employment Equity and BBBEE legislation. Working closely with HR, Finance, Procurement, and senior leadership, you’ll help us achieve our equity goals and build sustainable, community-driven impact.

Key Responsibilities

Employment Equity (EE)

  • Coordinate and implement the company’s Employment Equity plan in line with the EE Act.
  • Facilitate the Employment Equity Committee and ensure active participation across departments.
  • Maintain and manage the EE file, conduct regular compliance audits, and submit annual EE reports.
  • Guide leadership and staff on EE best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor EE goals and develop action plans to achieve transformation targets.

BBBEE Strategy and Compliance

  • Drive the development and execution of the BBBEE strategy aligned with current codes and DTIC scorecard requirements.
  • Monitor performance across all BBBEE pillars: ownership, management control, skills development, enterprise and supplier development, and socio-economic development.
  • Prepare for and manage BBBEE verification processes and liaise with external auditors.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve the company’s BBBEE rating.
  • Work closely with HR, Finance, and Procurement teams to ensure alignment with BBBEE objectives.
  • Manage learnerships and support both internal and external skills development initiatives.
  • Lead enterprise and supplier development efforts and report on SED project outcomes.

CSR & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop and implement Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs that align with company values.
  • Engage with NGOs, community leaders, and external stakeholders to build impactful partnerships.
  • Track and report on the impact of community initiatives and employee volunteerism.

Health & Safety Coordination

  • Oversee regular health and safety inspections, ensure compliance, and chair the Health and Safety Committee.
  • Coordinate training and corrective actions following H&S reports.

Reporting & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate records for both EE and BBBEE compliance.
  • Analyze and interpret data to provide insights and reports to senior management and regulatory bodies.

What You Bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Admin, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in EE and BBBEE compliance.
  • Deep knowledge of the Employment Equity Act and DTIC BBBEE codes.
  • Strong data analysis skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable presenting to senior leadership and engaging with external stakeholders.
  • A passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion—and a proactive attitude to match.
