Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Production: Train and develop the shopfloor using PTOs, SOPs, and risk assessments. Implement daily Shopfloor Management and Lean Enterprise principles. Maintain schedule adherence to ensure On-Time Delivery (OTD).
- Manage Cost: Keep costs aligned with budget targets while establishing a cost effective, reliable operation.
- Lean Principles: Drive continuous and incremental improvements in both product and process, eliminating redundant activities.
- Quality Assurance: Commit to zero defects and continuous process improvements. Utilize 5-Why’s and A3 tools for scrap countermeasures and preventative measures. Maintain a scrap rate below 1% of GR value.
- Sustainable Systems & Performance Management: Implement sustainable systems to control daily targets and outputs. Use velocity reports to manage lead time and aging, and OTD reports to oversee delivery performance. Optimize machine scheduling and shift management to maximize production and timely deliveries.
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
- Matric, N4 certificate, Technical or Production/Operations diploma.
- 3 years’ experience in the rubber component manufacturing, 3years of supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of SAP/or any other ERP system will be an advantage.
- Administrative experience in the manufacturing industry (pump/process manufacturing environment would be an advantage), exposure to and implementation of lean manufacturing.
- Implementation and maintenance of the OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards.
