Job Description To co-ordinate health and safety and security within Premier Job Related Skills:

  • 5-day position
  • 24/7 standby – must be able to do site visit at all hours (after hours)
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Network with external stakeholders (City of Cape Town, Council, Police, Fire Department, etc) Qualification Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • Samtrac qualification or equivalent
  • Level 2 fire fighting
  • Level 1 first aid
  • Incident Investigation course
  • Advanced Occupational Health and Safety Act course
  • Environmental course Experience Requirements
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Risk Management, specifically in a Milling/Baking environment Key Outputs Compliance with relevant legislation and regulations pertaining to Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental fields, which include, but are not limited to:
  • Upholding/implementing of Group Risk standards, policies and procedures
  • Self-auditing in accordance with the Group Risk audit
  • Chairing of committee meetings to discuss risk audit gaps, incidents, non-conformances, business continuity plans and other business risks
  • Hazard identification, risk assessment and compiling/reviewing of safe working procedures
  • Incident and accident investigation, including system logging and escalations
  • Management of insurance risk exposure recommendations
  • Security contract management
  • Management of staff wellbeing (such as medical screening) and training (such as Induction, Legal Liability, Health and Safety Representative, First Aider, Fire Fighter, Environmental, etc.)
