Job Overview
To support the business with all requirements relating to data supply, storage management and sourcing. To ensure that the business objective of enhancing decision making processes and business transparency is implemented through the availability of accurate data from the existing application landscape. Enhancing the Business Intelligence platform and implementing a clear data strategy aligned to the Daimler Trucks global strategy. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Business Analyst (IT) with a strong focus on Power BI, Qlik Sense, and QlikView to bridge the gap between business needs and data-driven solutions. This role requires a unique blend of analytical thinking, technical expertise, and business acumen to design, develop, and maintain impactful dashboards and backend data models that drive strategic decision-making.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Supply & Integration
- Design and manage robust data pipelines to ensure efficient, secure, and timely ingestion of data from global and local Daimler Trucks and Buses applications into centralized data storage (e.g., Azure Data Lake, SQL Server).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data sources, ensuring alignment with Daimler’s data governance and compliance standards.
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes using tools such as Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or custom scripts.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of data supply processes, data lineage, and transformation logic.
- Proactively monitor and troubleshoot data interfaces and pipelines to ensure high availability and minimal data loss or latency.
- Implement automated data validation and reconciliation checks to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Work closely with BI and data governance teams to enforce data quality standards and resolve data discrepancies.
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Qlik Sense or Power BI, tailored to business needs across retail, production, and corporate functions.
- Optimize data models and visualizations for performance, usability, and scalability.
- Provide advanced analytics support, including DAX, M, and Qlik scripting, to deliver actionable insights.
- Act as a technical lead or SME in BI-related projects, contributing to solution architecture, data modelling, and implementation planning.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and BI solutions that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Support change management and user adoption through training, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Contribute to the design and evolution of enterprise data warehousing strategies using MS SQL Server, Synapse Analytics, or other Azure-based services.
- Implement best practices for data modelling, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
- Manage and maintain metadata repositories, data catalogues, and semantic layers to support self-service BI.
- Ensure all BI solutions comply with Daimler’s data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement role-based access controls and data masking where necessary.
- Participate in audits and reviews to ensure adherence to internal and external compliance standards.
- Grade 12 + bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Business Analytics, or related field.
- Relevant certifications in BI tools or data analysis.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence fields.
- Proficiency in BI tools like Power BI and/or QlikView, and related backend technologies on MS Azure.
- Computer literacy ( Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Power Point).
- Strong business acumen and communication skills.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as MS Azure and/or AWS.
- Strong technical problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple projects.
