Financial Analyst

To support strategic growth by delivering high-quality financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting. The Financial Analyst will provide insight into cost structures, product profitability, pricing strategies, and investment opportunities to ensure that IOX Africa maintains a strong competitive edge in local and international markets.
Key responsibilities:
Analyse financial and operational data to evaluate business performance across product lines including iron oxide pigments, cellulose derivatives, and titanium dioxide additives.
Develop financial models to assess the viability of new product lines, production scaling, and international expansion.
Provide monthly and quarterly reporting including variance analysis, profitability reports, and cost breakdowns.
Collaborate with production, R&D, and procurement teams to analyse cost drivers and recommend cost-optimisation strategies.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning initiatives.
Conduct margin and pricing analysis to support market competitiveness while maintaining profitability.
Monitor and report on key industry trends, raw material price movements, and supply chain risks.
Assist in preparing business cases and financial due diligence for capital investment projects and expansion initiatives.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and contribute to internal control processes.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field (essential)
CIMA / CA(SA) / ACCA or other recognised financial qualification (advantageous)
3–5 years’ experience in a financial or business analyst role, preferably in manufacturing, chemical, or industrial sectors
Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Syspro, Sage) and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Strong analytical and numerical ability
Excellent business acumen, especially within industrial or manufacturing environments
Effective communication skills for engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
High attention to detail and accuracy
