Job Purpose:
Direct management of academic delivery and overseeing the management of academic programmes under the supervision of the principal. The mandate includes managing the operational efficiency of the academic team and overseeing the student support function.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Customer service:
- Continually review current customer service systems and processes. Refine where necessary to ensure an optimal student experience.
- Utilise the IIE assist platform to monitor and evaluate student satisfaction levels across the campuses.
- Ensure that all queries and complaints are within the national SLA.
- Manage the campus disciplinary cases in consultation with the DCH.
Finance:
- Achieve student support budget targets aligned to Campus Revenue targets; manage the Student and Staff welfare budget to achieve EBIT.
Student Retention (New and Returning students):
- Ensure the new students' retention is better than the previous year. Improve the student retention rates
Academic Support Project (pass rates, success rates, throughput rates, graduation rates):
- Appointing and developing a strong academic support team (SWMs, Information Specialists, Events Coordinators) that enables a dynamic student support experience and prepares students for academic success.
- Using feedback from SWMs, Information Specialists, students, and the SRC to refine and improve the student support campus strategies.
- Delivery of campus support strategies that culminate in meeting module and cohort throughput targets.
Human Resource Management:
- Mentor and coach the Student Support Managers team to empower and lead their respective teams.
- Ongoing talent and succession planning and associated training and support. Ensure transformation imperative in academic positions.
- Adhere to the organisations and institution's employment equity targets.
Project Management:
- Develop, coordinate and support the Student Support team on projects as assigned by the CH & DCH.
- Ensure that the projects are implemented on time and they are implemented according to the institution's goals.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master's degree in Education or relevant is essential.
- Honours in Education
- Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education or equivalent would be ideal.
- 3 years student administration or student support
- 5 years operational management and academic/student experience.
- 3 - 5 years of managing in a Tertiary education setting experience.

Working Hours:
Classes are scheduled from 08h00am until 17h00pm, Monday to Friday.
Salary:
Market related.
