The Key Purpose of this role is to Co-ordinate, coach and control the activities of the level one maintenance teams in the production environment and to provide specialist technical

advice to ensure maximum equipment availability.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all Packaging Electrical and Mechanical maintenance activities and lead a team of 6 employees across on day shift
  • Diagnoses and interprets problems (fault finding) to optimize production output and with own team carrying out the plant repairs
  • Responsible for the reduction of breakdowns in the Packaging Line by analyzing breakdowns, complying with the PM requirements and implementing Continuous Improvements
  • Review and Implementation of Planned Maintenance Procedures (Daily, Weekly and Monthly Checklists)
  • Ensures that service levels agreements are maintained at the required standards by carrying out all breakdown, preventative and predictive maintenance effectively
  • Participate in executing the department’s asset care strategy and ensure the machine performance of the Packaging department is maintained
  • Coaches and develops the engineering skills of other maintenance and operational staff
  • Manage and Control Maintenance Cost against available budget
  • Ensure engineering standards applied correctly
  • Draws up, Coaches and develops engineering skills to other maintenance and operational staff using OPL and SOPs
  • Support Packaging Line
  • Support Process Artisans on shift.
  • Coach Machine Specialist and Day Shift Artisans on AWS
  • Responsible for fault-finding and problem solving of engineering/ operational problems in the Packaging Line by ensuring that the appropriate corrective action regarding any deviation from standards is taken
  • Identifies the major engineering losses in the Packaging Line you responsible for and investigates using problem solving methodologies. (5 Why, Stage 1 etc.)
  • Review emergency works orders and initiate investigations and corrective action
  • Capability to develop and lead cross functional teams to deliver Business needs

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum Qualification: National Diploma Mechanical/Electrical
  • Optional Trade: Fitter and Turner/Millwright/Electrical
  • Optional Degree: Engineering
  • 3-5 Years FMCG Experience would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience with VPO or other continuous improvement tools would be advantageous
  • Ability to prioritize and manage maintenance projects in a brewing environment
  • Good knowledge of sustainable development reporting would be advantageous
  • Good all-round knowledge of manufacturing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SHE policies and procedures
