Job Description

Role summary:

The Surgeon is responsible for providing pre-operative, operative, and post-operative management of patient care within the multi-disciplined clinical team. Additionally, the Surgeon will provide the clinical lead within surgical facilities in support of the Iqarus Regional Medical Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform surgical interventions, including damage control surgery and surgical procedures for emergency surgical cases, to deliver life, limb, and function saving medical treatment
  • Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, specialists, and other medical staff
  • Recognise and record information on medical condition and surgical risk
  • Stabilise and support a casualty before evacuation by air or land, in support of ER clinical team if required
  • Liaise with other medical staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Ensures that all medical records are properly kept and maintained
  • Provision of clinical reporting
  • Support clinical mentoring for staff development
  • Ensure best practice in line with clinical guidelines and SOPs
  • Support the clinical excellence framework under direction from the Regional Medical Director.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

  • University Degree in Medicine with a minimum of 5 Years post qualification experience
  • A specialist qualification and/or formal education program in Surgery.
  • Remain clinically up to date in surgical procedures and demonstrate operating time.
