SEO Strategy
The SEO Strategist is responsible for driving and executing Digital Marketing strategies to completion. They drive and execute the strategy for appropriate hosting and infrastructure. They ensure risk management in terms of the network remaining SEO compliant and anonymous.
Reporting
They monitor and report on brand performance which includes financials, rankings, onsite SEO health, offsite health and risk. They also report on potential keywords and social opportunities.
The SEO Strategist gives feedback on brand strategy success. They give input from an onsite viewpoint in all meetings.
External Stakeholder Management
The SEO Strategist develops external agency relationships that benefit the overall business strategy. They negotiate external supplier pricing that best benefits the company’s bottom line and brand strategy.
Website Analysis
The SEO Strategist is responsible for performing detailed website analysis and identifying current problems and potential opportunities. Their focus is on crawlability, site architecture and site content. They prioritize SEO opportunities based on greatest impact to traffic.
They proactively identify technical improvements that could be made to the websites and in doing so, clearly communicating the benefits of implementing the required website changes. This role
supports the content and outreach teams with delivering ROI for both strategic and tactical campaigns through a combination of tailored recommendations, solutions and competitor analysis.
Competitor Analysis
This role conducts competitor analysis and then reports back to the relevant stakeholders. They perform this competitive research in order to identify what the client's competitors are doing right, what they are doing wrong, and how these tactics influence the client.
Training
The SEO Strategist trains other employees about on-page SEO. This includes but is not limited to areas such as semantic HTML mark-up, internal linking and source code ordering.
Research and Development
The SEO Strategist is responsible for remaining abreast with current industry practices, news and algorithm updates. They are expected to perform continuous research and enhance processes and procedures where applicable.
