Job Description To set and execute the strategic direction for the Data Operations function within a corporate and investment banking (CIB) environment. This role oversees all data operations across Product, Client, Channel, and Credit Data domains, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and regulatory requirements. The incumbent leads multiple teams, manages complex data projects, and drives innovation and optimisation in data handling, governance, and delivery. The Data Operations Head is also a key stakeholder in shaping enterprise-wide data strategies and ensuring the integrity, availability, and security of critical business data
  • Oversee all data operations activities, ensuring high-quality, timely, and reliable data delivery across all domains.
  • Establish and enforce comprehensive data governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with industry and organisational standards.
  • Lead organisation-wide data quality initiatives, focusing on error reduction and improved decision-making capabilities.
  • Drive the implementation of advanced automation technologies and tools to streamline data workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with IT, Product, and Risk teams to design and optimise data integration architectures and systems.
  • Direct the resolution of complex data discrepancies and oversee root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor and evaluate data related KPIs, presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Spearhead data migration projects and ensure seamless transitions to new systems or platforms.
  • Establish a robust framework for data security and privacy to mitigate risks associated with data breaches or misuse.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on strategic data-related projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Drive innovation in data operations, identifying and adopting best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Lead and mentor senior managers and team leaders, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
  • Act as the primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders on all matters related to data operations.
  • Represent the organisation in external forums and committees to advocate for industry-leading data management practices.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the Data Operations function.
  • Champion teamwork, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across data operations and other departments.
  • Promote adherence to global best practices for data handling, governance, and security.
  • Commit to the professional development of the team, ensuring skills remain relevant in an evolving data landscape.
  • Ensure the Data Operations function contributes meaningfully to the organisation’s high-performance culture and strategic objectives.
