What you’ll do:
Lead with passion: Oversee the station’s daily operations, from programming to technical management, ensuring smooth and inspiring broadcasts.
Keep us compliant: Navigate ICASA regulations, copyright reporting (SAMRO, CAPASSO, SAMPRA), and BCCSA requirements with confidence.
Drive growth: Develop strategic plans to expand FMR’s reach, impact, and financial sustainability through advertising, fundraising, sponsorships, and creative promotions.
Engage our community: Strengthen ties with our loyal listeners and attract new ones, ensuring our content resonates deeply with classical and jazz enthusiasts.
Nurture talent: Recruit, train, and lead a team of dedicated staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Champion excellence: Uphold FMR’s high standards in music curation, broadcasting quality, and audience engagement.

What you’ll bring:
A deep enthusiasm for radio, media, and the power of music to connect people.
A creative and forward-thinking mindset - someone who embraces innovation while staying true to FMR’s core values and mission.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Experience in broadcasting, community media, or a related field (a tertiary media/communications qualification is a plus, but not essential).
Knowledge of classical and jazz music (or an eagerness to learn quickly!).
Familiarity with South African broadcasting laws and regulations is beneficial.
Solid computer skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
