Overview:

Our client, a top tier South African company is looking for a skilled UI/UX Designer to help shape the future of digital experiences. In this role, you will help develop digital products for renowned brands by harnessing cutting-edge technology and a sophisticated tech stack.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile using tools like Figma or Sketch.
  • Ensure alignment of your designs with the existing design system, contributing to its evolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical feasibility, high-quality outcomes, and alignment.
  • Advocate for user needs by conducting usability tests and iterating designs based on feedback.
  • Analyse user data and behaviour to inform design decisions and deliver intuitive solutions.
  • Regularly communicate and present your design ideas to stakeholders.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Design
  • 3-5 years of experience in UI/UX design.
  • Proficient in Figma (auto-layout, components, prototyping) and Sketch.
  • Knowledge of working with design systems and usability testing tools.
  • Experience with usability testing and user research.
  • A sharp portfolio showcasing design thinking and cross-platform projects.

  • A design-forward and problem-solving outlook with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards to ensure inclusive design.
  • Ability to understand South African audiences' digital behaviour.
  • Clear communication skills to articulate ideas and facilitate discussions.
  • Strong user research skills and the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to align design deliverables with functional and technical requirements


Preferred (Nice-to-have) Experience:

  • Experience with news/media platforms or high-traffic digital products.
  • Knowledge of analytics tools like Google Analytics or Hotjar.
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks or Scrum environments.
  • Understanding of South Africa's digital audience and their engagement patterns.
  • Basic familiarity with HTML/CSS.
