Resident Head and Facilitator: Kleinbosch Centre

Babylonstoren has an exciting opportunity for a resident head at the Kleinbosch Centre. The ideal candidate has a passion for youth education, excellent interpersonal skills, and the drive to help establish an exceptional institution. Kleinbosch is a historic farm that housed the first official Afrikaans school. On-site accommodation is provided.

Requirements

  • A relevant education or language qualification.
  • A BEd degree would strengthen your application.
  • Experience as a teacher or facilitator, or in a student residence environment.
  • At least three years’ leadership experience.
  • Experience working with children or teenagers, e.g. teaching, mentoring, or youth leadership.
  • Experience in coaching life skills such as communication, conflict resolution, or similar competencies would be advantageous.
  • Valid first aid training.
  • Confident in handling emergencies, conflict, or challenging behaviour, with the ability to respond calmly and fairly.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Afrikaans and English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with learners, parents and staff.
  • Ability to lead and supervise groups of students.
  • Respect for and understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • An engaging and uplifting personality.
  • Willingness to adapt to flexible working hours and responsibilities.
