Registration on Municipal Database - 2023

Knysna Municipality intends to register unemployed UNSKILLED residents of the Greater Knysna Municipal Area on a database from which names
will be selected for the purpose of temporary appointments as and when they are required. This invitation serves to renew and compose a new
database for 2023.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS OF UNSKILLED LABOUR [When less than 50 Labourers are required]

All UNSKILLED persons are invited to register on the temporary workers’ database of the Knysna Municipality. Women and persons
with disabilities are also encouraged to register.

The following documentation must be attached to your application:

➢ Duly completed application form (please specify your Ward)
➢ Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae
➢ Copies of qualifications (if available)

RECRUITMENT PROCESS OF UNSKILLED LABOUR ARE AS FOLLOWS [When more than 50 Labourers are required]

➢ Where more than 50 labourers are required, the Public Participation Unit will loud hail the operational need for temporary staff in the
relevant wards.

➢ A date and time will be set where residents of wards can partake in the recruitment process.
➢ Recruitment will take place by residents putting their ID documents into one object and ID’s will be drawn by the Ward Councillor, bearing

in mind the Employment Equity relating to race and gender.
➢ The Names and Surnames of ID Numbers drawn will be read out and HR will be present to compile the list, which will reflect the

successful applicants.
➢ The Human Resource Section will co-ordinate the administrative process, which will include Induction, and processing of the Fixed Term

Contract.
➢ NB where less than 50 labourers are required, temporary appointments will be sourced from the Unemployed database

PLEASE NOTE:

• Application forms for Knysna residents are obtainable from the HR Office as well as the offices of Ward Councillors. Applicants

• Application forms for the outlying areas of Knysna such as Karatara and Rheenendal can be obtained from the respective

Knysna Municipality subscribes to the principles of Employment Equity.
