About the job Tax Administrator(External Applications Only)

To prepare, submit and where relevant co-ordinate the submission of all documentation required ensuring compliance with the Tax obligations of the Group.

Requirement

  • Minimum NQF 7 (financial qualification) with a minimum of 2 years related experience
  • Deadline driven and dynamic
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently

Key Performance Areas

Tax queries & audits

  • Investigate, understand and seek expert advice if necessary to ensure that group has addressed any tax related risk or problem which has come to light;
  • Ensure tax related queries that have come to light are dealt with;
  • Facilitate and provide information to the relevant tax auditors;
  • Ensure all tax correspondence files with tax related correspondence are completed;
  • Reconciliations prepared between Revenue authorities and Cashbuild for each country
  • Maintain a tax status table

Tax returns

  • Prepare provisional tax calculations and returns;
  • Obtain sign off by the Group Financial Accountant and prepare the relevant payment instruction;
  • Co ordinate the payment there of and ensure proof of payment is obtained on the day the payment is due.
  • Ensure all other tax type returns are submitted, stamped and paid timeously (i.e. Dividends tax, Import duty, VAT)
  • Ensure Tax Clearance certificates for all countries are obtained as needed

Withholding tax payments

  • Ensure withholding tax payments are calculated in terms of the relevant countries tax legislation;
  • Co-ordinate the review of withholding taxes in accordance with the timetable prescribed by the relevant countries tax legislation.
  • Ensure return is submitted and stamped and proof of payment is obtained on the day the payment is due

Relationships with relevant tax authority representatives

  • Maintain good relationships with relevant tax authority representatives
  • Resolve queries / claims within agreed timeframes

Tax treatment and updates

  • Ensure rates and treatments are according to latest Statutory requirements
  • Remain abreast with all tax updates
  • Apply new changes to tax calculations
  • Notify any affecting department of any changes

Ad hoc tax related projects

  • Assist with ad hoc tax related projects
