POSITION SUMMARY
This is an exciting opportunity to initiate the "Inside Sales Representative Intern" role and learn, perform at a high level with the commercial operations team in the animal health industry.
This role combines the responsibilities of an Inside Sales Representative Intern and a Digital Sales Representative Intern. The primary focus is to develop highly qualified sales opportunities, utilize solution selling, territory management, and business planning capabilities to establish relationships and maximize sales performance within the assigned territory.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Performance:
* Meet overall sales objectives (quota) both overall and for key growth products via demand generation within targeted geography.
* Successfully launch new product and service offerings.
* Demonstrate success in other key sales metrics such as growth rates and improving the health of your business.
* Workload will combine account management and outbound outreach through multiple channels.
Solution Selling Skills, Technical Knowledge, and Customer Value Delivery:
* Demonstrate the ability to learn and execute Solution Selling capabilities.
* Build and demonstrate technical knowledge, verbal fluency, and veterinary practice expertise.
* Establish relationships with and service all targeted customers/personnel to maintain and grow relevance and access within each account.
* Interact with customers following all promotional guidelines.
Territory Management and Teamwork:
* Effectively execute a call-cycle at the account and veterinarian level that delivers our reach/frequency expectations.
* Develop and execute a Territory Business Plan/Resource Allocation per our expectations - effectively implementing the full complement of resources and following up to maximize ROI.
* Introduce new customers to products and services through effective onboarding calls.
* Utilize our Customer Relationship Management system to identify evidence-based key account growth opportunities.
* Conduct quarterly business reviews with Customer Service Manager and routinely adjust the strategies, tactics, and investments based on changing needs to maximize territory performance.
* Meet department activity expectations including sales call activity.
* Work with Territory, Area, and Commercial Operations colleagues in a professional manner to ensure consistently meeting expectations around integrity/compliance, work-ethic, role/responsibility, conduct, effective communication, all administrative responsibilities, and overall teamwork.
Outreach Campaigns and Lead Generation:
* Work with each sales manager to identify key targets within their assigned geographies for outreach campaigns/calls.
* Daily outreach via phone and email to new prospects within the existing CRM database.
* Perform research on companies as a component of lead generation and qualification activities, utilizing research tools available.
* Develop effective email topics and campaigns to generate interest from prospects and grow our email newsletter distribution list.
* Review analytics from monthly email campaigns and follow up on areas of opportunity.
* Work collaboratively with our marketing group to identify opportunities not currently within the CRM database.
* Utilize social media tools to push news, press releases, and other public content for business development purposes.
* Maintain accurate and timely notes within the CRM and assist with validating current data records.
* Meet and exceed your quarterly and annual performance targets.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* Undergraduate degree (BS/BA) or Agricultural degree a benefit.
