Technical Sales Consultant (Flooring/Construction Chemicals)

Drive Sales and Market Penetration : develop and manage the allocated territory to achieve budget targets (volume and revenue), and implement sales strategies aligned with the Sales Manager’s direction.
Customer Relationship Management: build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, ensuring consistent communication and effective service to drive customer satisfaction and retention.
Market Intelligence and Reporting : regularly report on market trends, competitor activity, and economic or credit-related information, including monthly/quarterly sales reports, forecasts, and CRM visit reports.
Technical Product Promotion : leverage technical knowledge and marketing tools to influence specifiers (e.g., architects, engineers, quantity surveyors), ensuring adoption of TMC products and solutions in projects.
Compliance and Operational Excellence : adhere to company policies including safety, pricing, expenditure, and quality assurance protocols. Participate in stock takes, forecast product needs, and uphold the company’s image and values.
Is this job for you?
The ideal candidate should have a minimum Matric, and a relevant qualification in business or construction (engineering would be highly advantageous). You should have more than 5 years of experience in the construction industry (flooring or construction chemicals), with a background in technical sales or site management. Strong selling, negotiation, communication, and planning skills are essential. The ability to read technical drawings is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, while SAP knowledge is a plus. A valid driver’s license and physical fitness for site visits are also necessary for success in this role.
