Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate records of all firearms and ammunition, ensuring compliance with company policies and South African legal requirements.

Conduct regular inventory audits and inspections to verify the accuracy and condition of firearms and related equipment.

Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on all firearms.

Coordinate with certified gunsmiths for advanced repairs and modifications.

Storage and Security:
Ensure all firearms and ammunition are securely stored in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.

Monitor access to firearms storage areas, maintaining strict control over who has access.

Compliance and Record-Keeping:
Maintain detailed records of all firearms transactions, transfers, and usage.

Prepare and submit necessary reports to the South African Police Service (SAPS) and other regulatory bodies as required.

Education and Experience:
Education: Minimum Grade 12; post-tertiary education in a related field is preferred

Minimum of 2 years of experience in firearms handling, maintenance, and inventory management.

Must have business purposes for all four disciplines of firearms.

Must have no criminal record or have been involved in a criminal investigation.

Skills and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of firearms, firearm parts and accessories, and ammunition.

Thorough understanding of relevant sections of the Firearms Control Act and supporting regulations, with specific reference to the storage, safe-keeping, and legal transfer of firearm ownership in terms of SAPS systems and documentation.

Strong administrative skills and high proficiency in using online systems.

Excellent reporting skills and attention to detail

Security conscious with a high level of awareness of one’s surroundings.

Confident in the safe handling of firearms and ammunition.

Able to complete registers by hand and manage stock, conducting regular stock checks of firearms and ammunition.

Able to read small copy (such as serial numbers on firearm parts).

Ability to field strip firearms.

PSIRA grades E-B (not compulsory but preferable).

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry firearms and ammunition weighing up to 25 kilograms.

Standing, walking, and conducting physical activities for extended periods.

Legal Compliance:
Ensure compliance with the Firearms Control Act, 2000 (Act No. 60 of 2000) and other relevant South African legislation.

Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
