The Relief Travel Specialist plays a critical support role across the business, temporarily managing consultants’ desks during leave periods, handling educational bookings, chasing provisional bookings, and assisting with brochure quotes and dead leads. You will work closely with the sales team, agents, and suppliers to design and deliver exceptional travel experiences for discerning guests. The role includes rotational emergency duty and early/late shift patterns.
Key Responsibilities:
Take over active consultant desks during leave or educational trips
Manage requotes, proposals, and booking follow-ups
Assist with brochure quotes and peak-period booking input
Create and manage hosted and agent educational bookings
Support implementation and testing of systems and procedures
Proactively follow up on dead leads during quiet periods
Deliver exceptional, high-touch itinerary planning and guest service
Communicate effectively with agents, suppliers, and colleagues
Participate in emergency duty (on a rotational basis)
Adhere to early and late shift working hours (weekly rotation)
Minimum 3–5 years’ inbound tour consulting experience
In-depth knowledge of Southern and East African destinations
Strong computer skills: Tourplan (advantageous), MS Office, WETU
Solid understanding of travel industry terms, products, and channels
Passion for outstanding guest service and conservation values
Calm, professional, and self-motivated
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Collaborative, curious, and solutions-oriented mindset
Ability to meet deadlines, stay organised, and support team success
Between 3 - 5 Years
