DESCRIPTION

The Surveillance control room utilizes an escalation protocol whereby Surveillance Control Room Officers escalate their findings into a situational control room. The Surveillance Escalation Officer then handles this escalation operationally and enters feedback into the system.


QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Compulsory:
    • Surveillance (CCTV/LPR) industry specific knowledge.
      • Surveillance monitoring fundamentals
      • Operational structures and the responsibilities
      • Surveillance monitoring platforms and methodology
    • PC Literate
    • Grade 12
    • PSIRA Grade “B” (Pending Psira B grade)
    • No criminal records
    • Minimum of 3 years Monitoring Centre experience in a similar position
    • Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated.
    • Must be able to work as part of a team and manage people.
    • Must have a strong sense for attention-to-detail.
    • Well-articulated with excellent writing skills
    • Reporting Skills
    • Need to be proactive and be able to handle pressure situations
    • Have a higher sense of accountability
    • Knowledge of all monitoring platforms used by FADT which include: DeepAlert, Hikvision, Dahua (DSS), Vumacam (Proof 360, Milestone, Proof Search, LPR and Isentry), and Syntel.
    • Good Working relationship with peers

National Command Centre Shift Manager

Department: National Command Centre – Surveillance

Division: Fidelity

Responsible To: National Command Centre – Black Screen Monitoring Manager

Responsible For: Training & Development within Gauteng, management investigations, compiling statistics for Deep Alert & Vumacam working with excessive alerts.


Scope and Main Purpose of Job
:

  • Design, develop and implement training and development programmes within the company including any training academy, development program, performance team programs and various other training and development initiatives.
  • Training and Development for all monitoring systems.
  • Analyzing stats reports which is obtained from the alerting systems
    • Syntell – LPR
    • Vumacam – LPR/Unusual Behaviour
  • Proof 360
  • Milestone
  • Proof Search
  • Aura (Safe City)
    • DSS (Dahua Alerts)
    • Deep Alert
    • Find U
    • Listener
    • Videofied
    • ATVV
  • Overseeing the Excessive alerting and non-active alerting sites:

  • Analyzing Excessive reports and identify the follow:
    • High Alerting profiles
    • High alerts cameras
    • Non-active sites
    • To identify the reason for the high alerting and non-active alerting sites.
    • Amending and developing the profiles to work functionally.
  • In person training with Surveillance controllers, which involves monitoring and reviewing the progress of the training and development and reporting back to management.
  • Investigate live CCTV footage around the site to gather as much information for the operational teams and communicate information to them.

  • Duties: Below duties are not exhaustive and additional duties may be added as required.
    • Report for duty at least 10 minutes before shift.
    • Hold tool - box talk with team before shift commences.
    • Ensure a proper handover is done with the off going shift.
    • Be responsible for HR related issues on shift.
    • Ensure Surveillance Control Room Officers take approved breaks, and only two people at a time to leave Surveillance Control Room.
    • Ensure staff do not tamper with any surveillance equipment.
    • Continuously carry out on the job training where required to develop skills.
    • Ensure no unauthorized access are allowed into the Surveillance Control Room.
    • All work carried out in the Surveillance Control Room is confidential and will not be shared with any individual outside of the Surveillance Control Room.
    • Provide strategic approach to training, development and assessment of skills and knowledge needed to develop, grow, and retain talent within the organization.
    • Monitor and review the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussion with management.
