The IT Intern will work under the guidance of Service Desk Engineers and other senior IT professionals, providing first-level support to end-users, manage help desk queries, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure optimal system performance.

The IT Intern will work under the guidance of Service Desk Engineers and other senior IT professionals, providing first-level support to end-users, manage help desk queries, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure optimal system performance.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4
- Advantageous: Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
- Prior experience in a technical support role would be advantageous.
- Awareness of company policies and procedures.
- Understand business ethics and values.
- Understand company structure and reporting lines.
- Understand business processes and procedures.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal (English).
Operational:
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues for end-users via phone, email, or in-person.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users regarding computer systems, software applications, and network connectivity.
- Help deploy and configure desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to prioritise and escalate support tickets according to established procedures.
- Document support activities, resolutions, and procedures to maintain an accurate knowledge base.
- Assist with user account management tasks such as account creation, password resets, and access permissions.
- Participate in IT projects and initiatives under the guidance of senior team members.
- Contribute to the improvement of IT processes and workflows by providing feedback and suggestions based on firsthand experiences.
- Examining Information: Analyses and processes information very effectively when solving problems. Very curios and good at asking probing questions.
- Interpreting Data: Very effective in applying technology and working with numerical data when evaluating problems. Relies heavily on facts and hard, objective data when evaluating problems.
- Adopting Practical Approaches: Enjoy and are good with practical work and tasks. Prefers to learn by doing and very like to apply common sense.
- Developing Expertise: Motivated by and actively seek opportunities for learning new things. Enjoys reading and learns through reading. Is learning oriented and quick in acquiring new knowledge and skills.
