Job Description,

The Intermediate UI Designer plays a pivotal role in shaping the client-facing visual and interactive experiences of a financial planning application, Wealth Mentor. Working under the direction of the Lead UI Designer, the role focuses on supporting user interface design tasks while also owning the responsibility for all client engagement content — including writing, storyboarding, and creating video-based tutorials or walkthroughs. This role requires a balance of UI/UX sensibility, content storytelling, and strong collaboration with developers, marketing, and client experience teams.

Education

• Preferably a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Communication Design, Multimedia, or a related field.
  
  

Experience

• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in UI/UX design, with a focus on designing digital products across web and mobile platforms.
• Demonstrated experience designing and scripting user onboarding and educational content.
• Portfolio of both design and video work required for consideration.
  
  

Tools

• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, XD, After Effects, Premiere Pro).
• Familiarity with video editing and animation platforms like Canva, HeyGen, or Vyond (advantageous).
• Exposure to tools like Jira and/or Microsoft Teams (beneficial) for collaboration.

, Duties and Responsibilities,

User Interface Design Support

• Collaborate with the Lead UI Designer to develop high-fidelity user interface designs, mockups, and prototypes for the financial planning application.
• Ensure UI designs are aligned with brand guidelines, UX best practices, and accessibility standards.
• Provide iterative feedback and updates during the development and testing phases.
  
  

Client Engagement Content Development

• Write and refine all user-facing engagement scripts including onboarding flows, tooltip copy, pop-ups, nudges and instructional modals.
• Translate complex financial concepts into simple, user-friendly language that resonates with diverse user personas.
• Work closely with cross funtional teams to align messaging with client transformation goals.
  
  

Video Design and Creation

• Design and storyboard video content to support in-app tutorials, feature explainers, and promotional walkthroughs.
• Independently produce video content using design and video production software, which can include AI software (e.g. Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premies, Heygen, Canva, or other video and animation tools).
• Ensure videos reflect human-centred design principles and speak to the emotional journey of financial planning clients.
  
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Liaise with developers to ensure design implementation accuracy and smooth hand off using tools such as Figma.
• Work with marketing, copywriters, and business to maintain a consistent tone of voice and visual identity.
• Participate in usability testing and translate client feedback into UI and content improvements.
